Clinical Supervision

Social Work Supervision

I offer clinical supervision for Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) who need supervised clinical hours in order to earn their Licensed Independent Social Worker - Clinical Practitioner (LISW-CP). My supervision style is supportive, collaborative, and focused on helping you grow both clinically and professionally.

Supervision is more than checking off required hours.

It is an opportunity to strengthen your clinical skills, develop confidence in your professional identity, and create space to thoughtfully explore the complexities of social work practice.

What You Can Expect

My approach to supervision is grounded in my years of experience as a clinical social worker and supervisor in government mental health, school-based social work and mental health, developmental pediatrics, group, and solo private practice. It is a collaborative experience, because I believe effective supervision should not simply offer advice, but also provide a safe space for you to be curious, ask questions, reflect on your work, and work through challenges.

Together, we can explore areas such as:

  • Clinical assessment and treatment planning
  • Developing and strengthening clinical techniques
  • Ethical decision-making and professional boundaries
  • Case conceptualization
  • Documentation and technical/administrative responsibilities
  • Choosing modalities that fit your clinical identity and confidence
  • Self-awareness, transference, and the impact of your own experiences on your clinical practice
  • Preparing for independent clinical practice

Professional Consultation

Even experienced therapists benefit from having a space to pause, reflect, and talk through the complexities of clinical work. I offer individual consultation for fellow therapists and mental health professionals who are looking for a thoughtful, collaborative space to explore clinical questions, professional challenges, and the many layers of being a therapist.

My consultation approach is reflective and exploratory. Rather than simply providing answers, I aim to help you slow down, consider different perspectives, and develop greater clarity around the situations you are navigating such as a particularly complex couples case, navigating your role as a supervisor, feeling stretched by the demands of clinical practice, consultation can offer a dedicated space to pause and think.

Areas of Consultation

  • Couples Therapy — Explore relationship dynamics, clinical conceptualization, treatment challenges, and questions that arise in couples work.
  • Supervision of other therapists — Reflect on your supervisory relationships, approach, challenges, and professional responsibilities.
  • Professional boundaries and burnout — Explore boundary questions, compassion fatigue, therapist wellness, and the challenges of maintaining sustainable clinical work.
  • Private practice development — Talk through the clinical and professional aspects of developing and growing a private practice.

A Space to Think More Deeply

Consultation isn't about having all the answers. It's about having a space where you can step outside of the immediate situation and look at it from a different perspective.

Together, we can explore what you're noticing, what feels challenging, what may be happening beneath the surface, and what possibilities you may not have considered.
